Overview

Not every emulsion is a problem. In selected oilfield applications, a stable and controlled emulsion can improve chemical distribution, contact efficiency, and treatment consistency.

Emulsifiers are used where the objective is to create or maintain a suitable emulsion system rather than break one. Product choice depends on fluid chemistry, phase ratio, stability target, and the specific treatment environment.

Selection note: Emulsifier programs should be tied to a defined process objective. They are not the opposite of demulsifiers in a simple sense; they are selected for different operational goals.
