Overview

Fine particles can remain stable in water and pass through primary separation equipment. Flocculants help bind those particles into larger agglomerates that settle, float, or filter more easily.

In oil and gas water systems, flocculants are often used to support clarification, deoiling, or polishing stages where solids handling limits performance.

Selection note: Polymer type, charge, molecular weight, and mixing conditions all matter. Overdosing can be as damaging to performance as underdosing.
